A previous client approached us and asked if we could remove a small asbestos roof. The old building, was unused and empty for a lengthy period of time. The company was in the process of renovating the building to create a new cafe/bakery. Work on the renovation needed to stop whilst we removed the asbestos.
Firstly, we sprayed the asbestos sheets with a surfactant. This helps to tamp down any fibres and lessens the risk of contamination. Then we quickly removed the roof sheets, wrapped them and took them to the asbestos tip. They were disposed of in compliance with the HSE (Health and Safety Executive). We also sprayed the surfactant onto the timbers that were left behind, and on the doors of the building, directly underneath where we removed the asbestos from.
The client was then able to carry on and complete the renovation.
