Asbestos Flu Removal

I received a phone call asking if we can remove a flu pipe from their house, as they were in the process of selling it. Having any asbestos in your property at the time of selling it will severely comprise the sale. It can stop a buyer going forward with the purchase, or they will ask for a price reduction, based on the fact that there is a hazardous flu in the property.

We visited the client in their property the following day and arranged a price.

We visited again, the following day, to remove the asbestos flu.

We sprayed down the area with a specialist surfactant. Then used a small chisel to chip away at the mortar surrounding the pipe. Once the flu was loose we pulled it out in a single piece. The pipe was bagged, double bagged and disposed of to HSE (Health and Safety Executive) standards.
